More #Occupy Oakland Child Abuse

Filed under: Bay Area politics, politics — Tags: , , , — edge of the sandbox @ 3:47 pm

Zombie has two terrific photo-essays on the May Day rioters wannabes downtown Oakland and a separate minority May Day.  She documented anarchists trying to start some sort of scuffle with police downtown.  Anywho, for a while I was compiling evidence of Occupiers bringing their kids to the crime- and disease-infested camps and the obvious effort of organizers to encourage people to do so.  Admittedly, it was an easy task, and a busy mom like myself appreciates posts that are easy to write.

Thankfully, this time I didn’t see any pictures of minors in the immediate vicinity of the Oakland would-be riot, but there is a video that shows kids working on an #Occupy arts and crafts project, together with a young lady showing her underwear — not that anyone in this day and age finds this display objectionable.  I’m not sure where these kids were hanging out, but judging by the wide sidewalks, it must had been downtown.

Zombie has pictures of people taking their kids to a separate “decolonize” Oakland event, presumably intended for the minorities who felt that white patriarchy dominate #Occupy Oakland.

Check out this baby:

occupy oakland may day 2012

Violent rhetoric and the baby “worn” over the vital organs.  What’s the message here, exactly?

Somebody entrusted a little boy with a picture of a revolutionary who didn’t get to be Joseph Stalin:

occupy oakland tot

“Regeneration”… with Trotsky’s blood?

At that event, kids were exposed to some… er… interesting messages.  “Stay brown” is it like “stay white”, but for Mexicans, or a suggestion to not bleach one’s skin, because I can agree with the second.

Stay brown

A lovely Tuesday evening

The majority of Occupiers probably think that children belong to their events.  Witness this representative female specimen.  She’s spotting a keffiyah, an item worn in solidarity with notorious child abusers.  Recall Palestinian terrorists putting children in the frontlines.  In addition, she is wearing an oktyabryonok (child of October) pin (red star with the Lenin child in the middle) that was mandatory for Soviet children ages 7-10 — another great symbol of child abuse and brainwash.

may day 2012

Complete with call for violence

And while we are talking of keffiyahs, here is completely unrelated picture from Occupy Oakland May Day rally featuring a maiden about 1/2 Eastern European peasant circa 1937 and 1/2 Arabian free spirit.:

Occupy Oakland May Day

It is always important to dress appropriately for the rally. Behave appropriately, too. I mean, if you look at the Zombie report, some ladies were expressing solidarity with the Russian band Pussy Riot who are about to stand trial for protesting Putin. In this context, the least a girl can do is to exhibit a little PDA.

#Occupy Oakland: Feel the Hate (Now with Updates)

Filed under: Bay Area politics, parenting, politics — Tags: , , , , — edge of the sandbox @ 10:46 pm

The weather has been nice lately (today was around 70 degrees and sunny), a perfect day for a riot.  SF Gate estimates that about a 1,000 Oakland Occupiers attempted to squat Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center.  During a “peaceful march” they were deterred by police, and three officers suffered minor injuries.  Oakland police called nearby agencies for reinforcement.

An obligatory child abuse bit:

Most marchers had no idea where they were going, because organizers kept secret the building they planned to seize. Some people brought their children. Many brought their dogs.

Occupy Oakland

One happy boy

A movement with no leaders, you know.  Although SF Gate’s implied that people who brought their kids to the mission didn’t anticipate violence, the photo above shows otherwise.  This boy was given a makeshift shield.  Unbelievably, one occupier cared to take an arty picture of him.

Here is what the adults are up to:

Speakers exhorted the crowd to fight economic inequality. The first speaker, Roxanne Dunbar Ortiz, took perhaps the most pointed stance, urging the crowd to fight the rich.

“Passionate, organized hatred is the element missing in all that we do to try to change the world,” said Ortiz, a retired professor from Cal State East Bay. “Now is the time to spread hate, hatred for the rich.”

Dunbar-Oritz speaking

Judging by the SF Gate’s closing paragraph, the kids are getting tangled up in their hate and losing track of reality:

“The fact that everyone now talks about the 99 percent, the 1 percent – that shows Occupy’s won,” said Carter Lavin, 23, of San Francisco. “The debate was about debt, not jobs. Now it’s about jobs.”

Actually, “the debate” is not about jobs.  “The debate” is about how if somebody is God forbid doing well, we need to raise his taxes.  One might get some food-stamps out of this “debate”, but that’s not how jobs are created.

As of last week the #Occupy Oakland price tag added up to $3,000,000.  That number includes the costs incurred by the city only and excludes any loses to business owners.

UPDATE: Mayor Jean Quan grows up, sort of:

“Occupy Oakland has got to stop using Oakland as its playground,” Mayor Jean Quan, who has come under criticism for the city’s handling of the Occupy movement, said at a late evening press conference.

“Once again, a violent splinter group of the Occupy movement is engaging in violent actions against Oakland,” she said, speaking as officers in riot gear were still lined up against demonstrators in downtown intersections.

Quan no longer panders to the Occupiers quite so shamelessly.  She kind of sees them for what they are, “using Oakland as its playground”, but she continues to produce excuses for them.  I doubt Occupy rioters can be called a “splinter group” in any meaningful way because I haven’t heard of a split within the movement.  It’s more like #Occupy has a violent wing as well as followers who merely show up with signs.  At this point Oakland Occupiers who themselves don’t attack police or property have to know that brutality is expected from their comrades.  They are a part of a violent movement.

UPDATE 2: Mayor Quan puts #Occupy Oakland price tag at $5 mil.

Meantime, we thought last night’s KTVU channel 2 reporters didn’t have the Occupiers’ back.  It might had something to do with Occupiers puncturing the tires of KTVU’s van.

#Occupy Child Abuse Update: Mother of the Year and Mother of the Year Runners Up

In the #Occupy high days, I posted quite a bit about the movement’s child abuse.  Since #Occupy is withering away and I was doing some family-related travel as well as making other adjustments, I dropped the ball.  But I guess as long as there is #Occupy, there is #Occupy child abuse.  First spotted on Rouge Operator is this most egregious example of all: A mother put her child on train tracks to shut down the Port of Portland.

Note that by her logic she is not endangering her child because no humane person would run over her child.  But wait, this means that occupiers know that their adversaries are humane, and that due diligence will be exercised to make sure that they are not hurt.  The movement, however, does not recognize the humanity of others, be it the 1%, a truck driver delivering goods to a port, a resident of Lower Manhattan or even their children.  Those are merely pawns in the grand game of redistribution.

Considering that Time magazine chose occupiers to be the person of the year, this woman must be our mother of the year.  Always on Watch has the runners up, Parents for Occupy Wall Street starring their founder Kirby Desmarais, the chick in a knit hat.  She tried so hard but failed to outdo her fellow #Occupier mom in Portland.  Anywho, you can see the whole video on AOW.

Parents for Occupy Wall Street got their children to chant slogans and cry for the cameras.  The later was accomplished by having the youngsters tape their handmade hearts to a fence at NYPD headquarters to protest what they saw as “police brutality”.  The policemen had to remove the art projects, and, sure enough, the kids cried.  Parents for OWS made somber faces and said “lets go”.

It’s one thing to take one’s children along to a protest, but quite another to make them a centerpiece of a protest.  Getting one’s children to weep to generate sympathy for one’s cause is more wicked still.

More #Occupy Child Abuse

#Occupy has no end game.  But Mayor Bloomberg, probably fearing outcome unhealthier than that of a diet high in saturated fats, finally decided to clear the Lower Manhattan shantytown.  You’d think the occupiers would figure that he actually did them a favor, go home and work on their “police brutality broke the movement” narrative.  But no, they appear to be switching to a full-blown domestic terrorism mode.

Meanwhile ring worm and scabies are reported at their Santa Cruz squaterville — along with drug and alcohol use.

Occupy Snata Cruz

That's from #Occupy Santa Cruz "Activist Training" album. Looks like the woman standing in the background is holding on to a stroller.

On October 22 #Occupy Santa Cruz held a “family day”– thankfully not a “sleepover”.  Sure, that was nearly a month before the ringworm and scabies were found, but the conditions in which to expect them were already set.

The Gateway Pundit reports five separate crimes at the LA site, including masturbating in front of children.  It could get worse.  #Occupy Chicago security guard was arrested on child porn charges.

Occupy Chicago

A Parents for Occupy Chicago November 5 event.

In Seattle a two-months pregnant woman and an 84-year-old activists participated in a march in when the occupiers blocked intersections.  When the radicals ignored multiple warning to disperse, police used pepper spray.  The little old lady participated in occupation by choice, which can not be said about the gestating baby.

Occupy Seattle

This young woman was rushed to the hospital. Pepper spray can cause miscarriage and increased risk birth defects.

Lovely human shields you got yourselves, occupiers!

Another Day, Another Round of #Occupy Child Abuse Updates

Occupiers around the country appear to be heading home, and #Occupy Portland kids packed up a few days ago.  Still, #Occupy San Francisco is hanging on, now armed with shivs.  As I mentioned earlier, #Occupy San Fran solicits family participation.

Occupy child abuse

99% of #Occupy kids need a nap.

I’m sure everyone heard of the Denver, CO High School teacher who took her students to disrupt a conservative blogging convention.  I suppose somebody has to show them how to violate the rights of others, but it doesn’t have to be her.  #Occupy Denver already had a parents group.

A woman is raped at #Occupy Philadelphia, and I hope it’s not this newlywed:

Occupy Phili child abuse

A gallery of bad decisions: This single mother brought her 2-year-old to the camp, met a man, and, a month later, married him.

According to this video, the scene is changing in Zuccotti, prudent occupiers are leaving, Zuccotti lung and all, but some children are still around.  (Via Instapundit.)

Personally, I would not take my young family to any kind of political event because I feel that it’s exploitive.  Others make a point that older children need to observe their parents exercising their their 1st Amendment rights.  When parents feel compelled to participate and have no alternative child care, they bring their children to rallies.  I respect their choices.

#Occupy is no ordinary political rally.  The breakdown of social order at the squatter sites was predictable.  That parasites and airborne diseases will turn up at the camps was only a matter of time.  At the time Zuccotti announced its first family sleepover, it was already notorious for poor hygiene and drug use.  Perhaps some parents were naive.  Still others thought this kind of lifestyle is the norm.  All volunteered to put their children’s sweet faces on a very nasty happening.

“Zuccotti Lung” and Other Occupy Child Abuse Updates

I preciously wrote about alleged homeschooling at violent, lice-infested #Occupy Portland.  Now comes fresh news of criminal activity at the squatter location.  (Via Instapundit).  One individual is apprehended on suspicion of throwing a Molotov cocktail.  Can’t help suspecting that the homeschooled group adopted “Anarchist Cookbook” for their curriculum.

Two other individuals were arrested for probation violation, drug possession, disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon.  So much to learn at #Occupy Portland!

Occupy Portland

Perhaps the little ones can also learn the fine art of facial tattooing -- and mad hipster haircuts. Useful skills, you know. Guess which one is charged with drug possession.

In other news, a drug-resistant strain of TB is turned up at #Occupy Atlanta.  (Via Instapundit).  Who else turned up at #Occupy Atlanta?  Kids.

Occupy child abuse

This 9-year-old is holding a sign made for her by her uncle.

As seems to be the pattern, presence of children is actively encouraged by the movement.  Evidently a special tent was set up in Atlanta and resources were allocated to “Free Childcare” area.  This had to be done by consent of supermajority.

Occupy child abuse

That nasty diseases would show up at #Occupy was only a matter of time.  But #Occupy Atlanta is also swarming with gangstas — Creeps and Bloods united for the common cause.  But hey, free childcare!

Our old friend Kirby Desmarais who coordinates “family sleepovers” at Zuccotti encourages parents worldwide to take their children to #Occupy.  The occupiers of NYC public park are now talking of “Zuccotti lung” (h/t Always on Watch):

With little sleep in cold conditions, cigarettes and drinks being passed from mouth to mouth, and few opportunities to wash hands, Zuccotti Park may now just be the best place to catch respiratory viruses, norovirus (also known as the winter vomiting virus) and tuberculosis, according to one doctor.

The damp clothing and cardboard signs wet with rain are also breeding grounds for mold. Some protesters are urinating in bottles and leaving food trash discarded throughout the campground, providing further opportunities for nastiness.

[...]

Some protesters have refused free flu shots, citing a “government conspiracy,” the Times said.

There is also the increased risk among the encampment of sexually transmitted diseases, said the doctor, Dr. Philip M. Tierno, Jr. of the NYU Langone Medical Center. And the site’s pounding circles could lead to hearing damage.

Tierno compared conditions at the park to the pilgrimage to Mecca, in which entire groups of people have come down with respiratory infections in short period of time, and the communal compounds of the 1960s where sanitation problems and STDs cropped up.

The health department has visited the site and is monitoring.

“It should go without saying that lots of people sleeping outside in a park as we head toward winter is not an ideal situation for anyone’s health,” the department said in a statement.

Pilgrimage to Mecca is an apt comparison given the ritual nature of… oh, the post-modern protest.  Still, given the worrisome conditions at #Occupy camps, parents should think twice before indoctrinating their offspings into this particular worship.

UPDATE: Now that #Occupy Portland appears to be readying for an Oakland-style riot, #Occupy Portland children’s camp had closed.  (Via Instapundit.)

How to Write an Occupy Child Abuse Update

Glenn Reynolds made it easy.

Step 1: Look up #Occupy fail to pick up the top #Occupy location that had an outburst of violence, death, drug dealing, pimping, confrontation with police or any other shady activity.

Step 2: Google “#Occupy [location]” + parents.

Step 3: Write your post.

Example 1: #Occupy London was taken down by police today.

#Occupy London is upfront about their intent.  They “invited” (their word) mothers and children to participate in occupation.  At the time the call was issued a violent confrontation with police was expected.   This post by Zelda is revealing of the sentiments of occupying mothers:

Hello all,

Would anyone like to meet up/ travel together to the protest at St Pauls, on Weds 26th?

I went to the start of it, on Sat 15th, with my children (aged 1.5 and 3.5) and was struck by the need for more so-called ordinary people to show support, as otherwise it gets dismissed as just the usual suspects (far left agitators etc).

I am impressed that people are braving discomfort, cold and inconvenience to highlight the inequality in our country and I would like to support that (if only for a bit).

Nice of her to volunteer her kids to brave “discomfort, cold and inconvenience” so that the movement doesn’t get “dismissed as just the usual suspects (far left agitators etc)”.  Raising future RP ponds for radical movements — what joy!

occupy lsx child abuse

Very funny.

Perhaps UK child protective services don’t think that putting children in the frontlines of battles against police endangers the well-being of children.  What they are known for is taking away obese children.

Example 2: Body of a man was found at#Occupy New Orleans site.  He has been dead for at least two days.  Caring occupiers didn’t notice.

What does the #Occupy New Orleans squatter park look like?

Occupy child abuse

Children: They hold up your posters, and they risk their emotional and physical well-being, but they can't vote at #Occupy.

The #Occupy movement actively courts kids.  Recruitment websites are set up, funds are allotted and donations are solicited to put young families in front of the cameras.  Who is responsible for it?  Every participant.  After all, everything that happens in #Occupy squat cites happens with approval of a 90% supermajority of occupiers.  Although those holding the purse strings are uniquely responsible, if the movement welcomes kids to live in squalor, surrounded by filth, drugs and violence, then occupiers approve.

Exit question: Now that #Occupy Zuccotti has a separate women’s section, where do families “sleep over”?

UPDATE: One doesn’t need to go through the trouble of looking up #Occupy Fail, to gather materials about #Occupy child abuse.  It pops up everywhere.  Urban Infidel writes about the general depravity at Zuccotti and posts a picture of little girls holding odd signs.  (Via Zombie.)

Like many other #Occupy sites, LA has a special kids section.  Ringo points out that the kids were given art supplies to make signs:
