Good Riddance, Planet Earth! (Graphic)

All is not well in suburban Islamabad:

First let me express my gratitude to our men and women in uniform, and their families, some of whom are reading this blog.  This would be impossible without your continued sacrifice.  I am very proud of our awesome armed forces, and I am very proud of our country.  Even though the War on Terror is not over, killing Bin Laden is great for our morale, and bad for the Islamists’, not to mention that we delivered justice to the victims of 9/11.

Giving credit where credit is due, Obama did stick with the War on Terror, he didn’t close Gitmo, where key information that led to Bin Laden’s assassination was acquired, perhaps through water boarding.  It will be interesting to see how the President is going to placate his pacifist base, which will now find little rationale for any continued involvement in the Middle East.

Great analysis by Charles Krauthammer here.

Powerline has a bunch of related posts.

So romantic: Bin Laden Used a Wife as Human Shield.

UPDATE: The photo’s a fake.  Oh well, never trust a Chinese news agency, I suppose.

DH: How long have you been on the internet?  You didn’t recognize the fake!

Me (blushing): Mmmm… I don’t know.  I thought there would be a picture because we announced that we had the body!  And this one was on top of the pile, and…

DH: And what’s this fixation with graphic images?

Me: Fixation?  I only did it twice!

DH: Well, the first time was for justifiable shock value.  And now?

Me: Point taken.
